Training

Puppy Training Program:

All prices include age appropriate vaccines, boarding and food. Due to the amount of time that goes into training our space is limited. Please contact us at southlandgoldens@yahoo.com for availability

Foundation Training- 4 week training program $2,500

Puppies can start Foundation Training as early as 8 weeks old. Earliest going home date for Foundation Training is 12 weeks old.

Total price for a Puppy with Foundation Training- ($7,500 puppy price + $2,500 training)= $10,000

Commands

"Sit"- obey verbal command "sit"
"Stay"- stay with verbal command and hand signal for 10 seconds
"Here"- come when called from a short distance with verbal command and hand signal with minimal distractions
"Down"- obey hand and verbal commands to go into the down position.
"Place"- learn to go to an assigned place and sit.

Potty/ Crate Training

Ability to be crated for 3-4 hours without having an accident
They will be let out on grass to go potty immediately after crate time and feedings. Lots of praise will be given when your puppy goes potty outside. This is to help lay the foundation for potty training in their new home.
- Note that your puppy will not be completely potty trained

Leash Training

We will start the leash training process by teaching them to not to pull while on the leash. Anytime the puppy pulls we will stop and wait for them to relieve the tension before we continue on.

Socialization

Accustomed to being around men, women and children in a safe environment (no public outings if not yet fully vaccinated due to age)
Comfortable being bathed and groomed
Accustomed to riding in the car to and from the vet
Comfortable around everyday noises such as TV, washer/ dryer, vacuum, etc.

Intermediate Training- 14 week training program $7,500

Puppies can start Intermediate Training as early as 8 weeks old. Earliest going home date for Intermediate Training is 5 months old.

Total price for a Puppy with Intermediate Training- ($7,500 puppy price + $7,500 training)= $15,000

Commands

"Sit"- obey the verbal and/ or hand signal command "sit" with distractions
"Stay"- stay with verbal and/ or hand signal command for 15-20 seconds
"Here"- come when called from a distance with verbal command and/ or hand signal. Your puppy will be trained to go directly into the "sit" position once they "here" to their destination.
"Down"- obey verbal and/ or hand signal command to go into the down position. They will also learn to stay in this position for 30 seconds
"Place"- learn to go to an assigned place and stay 30 seconds

Potty/ Crate Training

Ability to be crated overnight for 6 hours without having an accident
They will be let out on grass to go potty every 2-3 hours during the day and will learn how to hold it for longer period of times.
- Note that potty accidents are still possible while they adapt to their new environment.

Leash Training

Your puppy will be taken on walks daily, so they learn to walk on a loose lead. They will also be introduced to walking on the left side in the "heal" position.

Socialization

Accustomed to being around men, women and children in a safe environment. They will be introduced to public places after they receive their 15 week old shots
Comfortable being bathed and groomed
Accustomed to riding in the car around town without having an accident.
Comfortable around everyday noises such as TV, washer/ dryer, vacuum, etc.
Comfortable with Thunderstorm noises (during set tv time they will be exposed to videos with thunderstorm noises)

Advanced Training- 36 week training program $12,500

Puppies can start Advanced Training as early as 8 weeks old.

Earliest going home date for Advanced Training is 10 months old.

Total price for a Puppy with Advanced Training- ($7,500 puppy price + $12,500 training)= $20,000

Accustomed to riding in a car while being calm and settled. Your puppy will also be able to hold their potty for lengthy car rides.
Comfortable around everyday noises such as TV, washer/ dryer, vacuum, etc.
Comfortable with Thunderstorm noises (during set tv time they will be exposed to videos with thunderstorm noises)
